Glasgow
Getting There.
We took in the English countryside and took the train from London to Glasgow. It was about a 4-hour journey and was comfortable.
Most importantly, the views were stunning!
The local trains are great when traveling around Glasgow, and under 12s are free. Taxies are large and we could fit all 5 of us plus our suitcases.
Stay.
When you’re traveling as a family of 5, it can be a challenge to find a location that fits everyone…, especially in Glasgow. This meant that we needed to stay about 15 mins out of the centre. Not ideal, as we likely spent more on UberX than if we had bought 2 rooms - live and learn. We stayed at Glynhill Hotel and Spa which included breakfast and a pool/gym.
Eat.
Naturally, when in Glasgow, one must have Indian food. We had delicious food at Masala Twist in the centre (they also cater to kids!).
One of our favourite places was Brel in the Glasgow West End. It’s a super-cool venue that even allows bookings for a table in which you can cook your own s’mores.
Play.
Whilst in Glasgow, we took a day trip to Stirling Castle, an inexpensive return train trip. We also caught the Battle of Bannockburn experience.
