Kratie & Mondulkiri.
Floating Restaurants, River Dolphins, and Rescue Elephants.
Kratie.
With the Mekong River flowing north to south along the edges of Kratie, travelers will find a mix of nature and old charm.
Getting there.
Travelling to Kratie and Mondulkiti is made all the mroe fun with Vanra’s Tours. Vanra knows all the best places to stop along the 6ish hour drive such as, this annual pop-up floating restaurant which is only erected for Khmer New Year. We enjoyed a fresh and tasty seafood lunch here.
Eastern Cambodia
Nestled between the mighty Mekong River and the border of Vietnam, Eastern Cambodia remains a relatively undiscovered region that beckons with its raw beauty and tranquil charm. The sprawling rainforests of Mondulkiri Province provide a perfect escape into nature, with majestic waterfalls, lush green valleys, and an abundance of rare wildlife. Meanwhile, Kratie Province is renowned for its idyllic river scenery, where visitors can catch a glimpse of the elusive Irrawaddy dolphins. As you journey through this delightful region, be prepared to be mesmerized by its untouched beauty, warm-hearted locals, and a sense of serenity that is hard to find elsewhere. Eastern Cambodia truly is a hidden gem just waiting to be explored by the intrepid traveler.

Le Relais de Chhlong is a beautifully renovated boutique hotel near Kratie. The food is phenomenal and the rooms - just parfaite!

A simple boat-trip to see the enigmatic Irrawaddy dolphins will set you back less than 20$ and will give travellers an insight into local tourism and life. Our 5-year-old loved it and the mini-swim on a tiny island as well.
