Getting there.
Wanting to take in the Scottish countryside, we chose to drive the long way from Glasgow to Loch Luichart and we weren’t disappointed. The drive is windy and many of the roads seem too narrow for vehicles traveling in both directions but the scenery is beautiful.
We stopped off in Fort William for a hearty lunch at The Old Deli which was simply delish and perfect for a drizzly Scottish day. If timings work out, nearby you can catch a glimpse of the famous Jacobite Train, too.
Stay.
We stayed in Garve, about an hour or so from Inverness, right on the edge of Loch Luichart. Our boys loved hanging down by the Loch skipping stones and playing in the rocks. Had it been warmer, we would have taken the boat and the banana out for a ride, too.
We also took some small trips out to a deer farm and to Robertson’s Farm Shop in Beauly to check out the Highland Cows - fun for all!
