London.

“In London, everyone is different, and that means anyone can fit in.”

Getting Around

We ordered a shuttle bus from Stamstead Airport in advance which was very costly and took longer than the train into Paddington. If you’re not too tired and are happy to lug your cases, go for this option.

The Tube is super-easy to get around and I’d definitely recommend it - every for seeing the sites.

We took a kid’s scooter with us everywhere - no more complaints about the walking!

Stay.

Firstly, London is pricey so you want to book somewhere inexpensive that includes breakfast (so you can stock up for lunch!). We stayed at The Shakespeare Hotel in Paddington which was close to public transport and Hyde Park. There are also many restaurants and pubs nearby. Our stay there was perfectly adequate.

Eat.

One of my favourite places in London is Covent Gardens. The Nag’s Head pub has great pub-fare for the whole family. Jump upstairs for your meal and grab a seat at a window to people-watch.

Play.

Save some cash and go for free sites around the city. We went to the Science Museum which was not far from Hyde Park. It gave us a chance to wander through Hyde Park on the way.

Take the tube to Westminster (rather than a costly tour bus) and walk through the area as you wish.

We did splurge on tickets for a Westend show - The Lion King. It was brilliant for the whole family and an easy Tube ride away.
