Manhattan.
Stay.
In NYC, summer-time is steaming and winter is freezing. For the Summer, we wanted to stay close to Central Park for the play factor so we chose to stay at Hotel Belleclaire in the Upper West-side which is just a few blocks from Central Park. In the Winter, we stayed in Chelsea at Cambria.
Hotel Belleclaire has a lot to offer with a $10 breakfast voucher per person at their downstairs bakery, daily wine-hour at affiliated hotels, and complimentary walking tours. It’s also close to attractions such as, The Museum of Natural History. LoveTravelActually readers can enter the promo code TRIUMPH when booking online for the best price.
Cambria in Chelsea is close to shopping - hello, Nordstrom Rack - and not far from the High Line.
Play.
Manhattan is a walking city and there is SOOOO much to do but knowing what to do according to the seasons will help you get the most out of it.
WINTER - We did a cute, horse-drawn carriage ride through Central Park on a crisp yet sunny winter day. It was slow and relaxing, and reminded me of Sex and the City scenes. We also went ice-skating in Bryant Park which is a uniquely winter-time activity and great for seeing all the Christmas decorations. Finally, we enjoyed the MoMA - especially its store!
SUMMER - The High Line in Summer is not to be missed; with food truck and free chill-out benches by the flowers, it’s an awesome way to spend a mild Summer’s day. Summer is the time to catch a ferry to Lady Liberty herself, grab tickets on the Circle Line Tour for the commentary.
